Ours is a multidisciplinary college both of senior and junior level with five faculties namely Arts, Commerce, Science, I.T., and Biotechnology at senior level. Apart from the traditional degree courses in faculty of Arts, Commerce and Science we run additional degree courses to meet the challenges of 21st century. E.g. B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.C.A. and B.Lib. We run P.G. courses in economics, Geography, and Sanskrit in Arts faculty, Computer Science and Biotechnology in science faculty, M.Com. Course in Commerce faculty and M.Phil. in Geography.

Research Guidance is available in Physics and Electronics, Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry, Zoology and Fishery Science, Microbiology, Pali, Marathi, Economics Sociology, Geography and Commerce with university recognized research centers in seven subjects. Ours is the first college in marathwada  to teach Russian at senior and junior college level. We run “Earn and Learn Scheme” for poor boys, we also run YCMOU study centre with VLC successfully. Under UGC’s innovative program we have started M.Sc. Photonics course.

We have successfully started coaching for competitive exams like MPSC, UPSC, IIT-JEE, AIEEE, MHT-CET. At present our 193 teaching and 109 Non-teaching dedicated staff members are looking after the overall development of 4951 student of the college. I proud to say that NAAC accredited our college as “A” grade college with score 88.25% and U.G.C. has granted us the Status award “COLLEGE WITH POTENTIAL FOR EXCELLENCE” the entire credit for which goes to our dedicated Teaching and Non-teaching staff and visionary leadership of Dr. Gopalrao Patil. President of Shiv Chattrapati Shikshan Sanstha the parent institution of our college under this U.G.C. CPE scheme we have enhanced our Library facilities, developed Commerce Laboratory, Language Laboratory E-Learning center and G.I.S. Laboratory, completed networking using Wi-Fi technology, and providing internet through it.

We have a good track record of results both at university and board level examinations. We have pioneered the famous “SHAHU PATTERN” it is widely known as “LATUR PATTERN OF EDUCATION” this pattern has shaped hundreds of toppers in university and board examination every year now it is proved and accepted by society that Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya Latur is one of the primer institution of higher education in Maharashtra .

It is great pleasure to note that we have received the “BEST COLLEGE AWARD” in the university area under urban category for the year 2008-2009, Instituted by our parent university Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University Nanded. Under “Gunvatta Sudhar Yojana”. However excellence is never an attainment it is always pursuit. Our thrust areas in future would be I.T., B.T, and Nanotechnology and personality development. We are eager to go for autonomy we have already sent a letter of intent for Re-accreditation by NACC.
