The Department of Library and Information Science came to existence with the introduction
of M.Lib.& I.Sc. course of Yashawantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University at
Nashik. The course started from the academic year 2000-2001. This was followed by
B.Lib. &I.Sc. course of same university from the academic year 2002-2003. There
after we have introduced B.Lib. & I.Sc. of our parent university viz. Swami Ramanand
Teerth University, Nanded. From 2005-2006, we have introducted Library
and Information Science as one of the optional subjects at Junior as well as Senior
college level. We also run M.Phil. in LIS from the academic year 2006-2007 of YCMOU,Nashik.
