Department of Mathematics
Department of Mathematics is established in the year 1971, when Shiv Chhatrapati Shikshan Sanstha started the Science Faculty in Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya, Latur. In the beginning only two classes i.e. P.U.C. and B.Sc. I year were started with one teacher. In the natural growth B.Sc. II and III year classes were started in the year 1973 and 1974 respectively.
Department has two computers with Mapple-12 Mathematical software, it is useful to meet the needs of the students in the Globalization. The department has formed a association of the students in the acedimic year 2009-10, through this association conducting various activities like: Stuent Seminars, Competative tests, quiz contests etc. for the improvement of their logical and reasoning ability.
Objectives
- To understand definations, concepts, principles, lows and theorems of applied and pure mathematics.
- To acquire mathematical skills such as problem solving ablity and making decisions.
- To develop reasoning and logical power of the students.
- To relate mathematics with other areas of knowledge.
- To improve students thinking power.
Activities:
- Organized UGC Sponsered National Seminar on "Advances in Computational Mathematics" on 23 and 24 Feb. 2011.
- Organized Preliminary MMS Seminar Competition ( for Latur District).
- IIT JAM Enterence Examination guidence program.

Head of the Department, Completed P.G. from Dept. of Mathematics, University of Pune, Year of teaching experience is Nine , participated three papers in the National conference, and one research paper in International Conference, attended faculty improvement program for technical teachers conducted by Technical Teachers Institute, Bhopal, attended short term training programme at IIT Madrass in the subject Numerical Linear Algebra, attended advanced training school for lecturers at Department of Mathematics, University of Pune, completed one orientation program at H.P. University, Shimla, Member of The Indian Scinece Congress Association, Kolkatta, Member of Indian Mathematical socity and Marathwada Mathematical Society , Aurangabad. Worked as a resource person for the NET / SET workshop at the Science College, Nanded, School of Mathematical Sciences SRTMU, Nanded, and M.B. College, Latur. Working as a Additional Co-ordinator of Marathwada Mathematical Society , Latur Since the year 2011.

Completed P.G. from M.B. College, Latur. M.Phil. from Madurai Kamraj Univerisity, Tamilnadu. Year of teaching experience Three, participated in various National level conferences, worked as a resource person for the Motivational Bridge program arranged at D.S.C.Latur. Member of The Indian Scinece Congress Association, Kolkatta , Member of Indian Mathematical socity and Marathwada Mathematical Society , Aurangabad. Completed one referesher course at BHU, Varanasi.
