Department of Physics is recognized as a research centre by Swami Raman and Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded from  the academic year 2004-2005 .

    This centre is engaged in action oriented research for the development of the Marathwada region with the involvements of teaching faculty and the students.

 RECOGNIZED GUIDE :

     Dr. E. U. Musumdar [ Reader in Physics ] is a recognized guide in physics who is perusing active research in the department.  He has number of publications of International and National repute to his credit.

AREA OF RESEARCH :

     Currently, the active research is going in the area of Thin Film Physics and Solar Photovoltaic.

LAB SET UP :

     At present three Research scholars are working under the guidance of Dr. E. U. Masumdar in Solar Photovoltaic - A studies for deposition of the Thin Films.  A chemical bath deposition set up is developed in the laboratory  for Solar Photovoltaic study,  a characterization setup of Photoelectron Chemical Solar Cells is also made available.

 LIBRARY:

     The necessary library facility for thin film studies. is available in our library. It is a regular subscriber of J. Pure & Applied physics, Brull of math. sci., science reporter, etc.

PROJECTS COMPLETED:

     A minor project entitled 66 processing, characterization and applications of antimony doped cadmium Sulphride thin films.  sponsored by UGC has been completed under the principal Invistigatorship of Dr. E. U. Masumdar.

     A minor research project entitled Microwave dilectrive studies of Carbon Thin Films is  completed by Dr. C. S. Mali and one more project boundary value problems is completed by Dr. M. R. Patil.
