The Department of Chemistry is established in the year 1971-72. In the year 1981-82 an applied subject Industrial Chemistry was introduced at B.Sc. level. After having felt the growing need of analysts to the industries developed in the region or to the industries situated in the cities elsewhere, the college took initiative in starting the course Analytical Chemistry in the year 1985-86 at B.Sc. level. Now this course is running smoothly  guiding regular and outgoing students.

            The Department has applied for recognition of research laboratory of S. R. T. M. University, Nanded. Recognition committee and university authorities in 1999-2000 approved our laboratory as research laboratory. Now the Department has a research laboratory and research activities are in  progress. Dr. R.S.Birajdar is a recognised guide. He is looking after all of the research activities of the Department.
