DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & I.T.     

         
       The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology is established in the Academic year 1999-2000. Prior to this year, the subject Computer Science was introduced in our college as an Optional subject at B.Sc. level from the Academic year 1998-1999, as an additional venture of the Department of Physics and Electronics. The intake capacity for this subject was 40 students. We had 20 Celeron PCs and 2 servers in our Computer Laboratory at that time. The first computer lab was set up with the kind assistance of Rs. 10 lakhs received from the Former M.P. (Member of
Parliament) Fund which was made available by the Hon. Dr. Gopalraoji Patil, Member of Parliament.

The inauguration of the first Computer Laboratory took place on 01.01.1999 at the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Minister, Govt. of India Shri Ram Naik, under the Chairmanship of the Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of Maharashtra, Hon’ble Dattaji Rane  and in the presence of Hon’ble Dr. Gopalraoji Patil, Member of Parliament.

 In the Academic year 2000-2001 the courses i) Bachelor of Computer Science and (ii) Bachelor of Computer Applications were started. In the same year, the inauguration of these courses took place on July 20, 2000 at the hands of  renowned scientist and father of Indian Super Computer Dr. Vijay Bhatkar.
