Department of Mathematics is established in the year 1971, when Shiv Chhatrapati Shikshan Sanstha started the Science Faculty in Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya, Latur. In the beginning only two classes i.e. P.U.C. and B.Sc. I year were started with one teacher. In the natural growth B.Sc. II and III year classes were started in the year 1973 and 1974 respectively.

            On behalf of the Department, new mathematics training programmes were conducted for high-school teachers of Latur and Osmanabad districts for three successive years. (i.e. 1972-73 to 1974-75) The teachers from this Department are working as P.G. teachers and one of them has worked as resource person at University of Nagpur, Amravati University and A.M.University, Aligarh.
