Welcome to Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya (Autonomous), Latur. This college established in 1970, bears the name of a true democrat, social reformer, educationist and the progressive king of Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Rajarshi Shahu. The motto of our institution is Pursuit of Excellence.
The story of our institution is the story of the legendary bird Phoenix which rises from its ashes. Incidentally Phoenix is emblem of our institution. The fifty years history of our college is full of trials and tribulations. We accepted the challenges and conquered the adversities to reach at the apex of success. We are always pragmatic, resourceful and creative on every front. Through tireless efforts and selfless service we have evolved a Shahu Pattern which is widely known as Latur Pattern of education.

The college got Autonomy in 2013. It is the only autonomous college in our region. The college has UGC-CPE (Phase III) status and support under DST-FIST scheme. It has empowered us to introduce innovations in Academics and Research. The Autonomous status of the college has made the programs and courses more divergent and need satisfying. Under the new accreditation framework of NAAC, the college received B++ (CGPA 2.99) in 2018.
On account of our innovative efforts in the field of education, consistent good results, overall development of students, rising number of rank holders, this institution has created a very healthy academic atmosphere in Maharashtra. Today, our institution has become a pilgrimage center of education in Maharashtra. We are trying our best to keep the lamp of knowledge constantly burning and we are holding aloft the light of creative wisdom and culture. As a result, the fragrance of fame of this institution is spreading in all directions crossing the boundaries of the State of Maharashtra.
Being the Principal of this college, it is my responsibility to endure the accomplishment of academic excellence to each and every stake holder irrespective of his/her caste, creed, birth, region and religion. I view my role as that of a catalyst to provoke and draw the best out of the inherent and latent potential of the Shahu Parivar.
