Controller of Examinations


                  I have been bestowed with the responsibility to look after the affairs of examinations and proceedings of Board of Examinations as the Controller of Examinations. I have joined Examination Section with the optimism to enhance the credibility of examinations and hence this institution and come to the expectations of the stakeholders; students, parents and society.

I invite all the stakeholders to contribute to the process of enhancing the quality and upgrade the existing system for which BoE has already taken a series of measures to bring more transperancy in the examination system and speedy disposal by using new technologies.

In this regard, BoE has already taken steps in this directions like speedy results, online submission of application forms, regular updating of website for latest information etc.

With strong backing of able and dynamic leadership of Dr. Mahadev Gavhane, Principal of this institution and Shiv Chhatrapati Sikshan Sanstha Examination section is undergoing technological revolution for the speedy justice to the candidates on merit.

I look forward to students and stakeholders also to make suggestions for further betterment of examination system.

I offer my best wishes to all the students who aspire to compete for different courses and also advise them to work hard, upgrade their skills and devote reasonable time for their success. I, further believe that every student / candidate has the ability in achieving excellence in his / her desired goals.

Examination and Evaluation


Examination
  • The Controller of Examinations selects the Question paper setter from a panel comprising experienced faculty members from various colleges and universities.
  • Once in three years we change the panel members. For this, we collectthe profile of the panel members by sending a proper proforma along with a requisition letter to the principals of various colleges.
  • The question paper setter shall frame the question paper paying heed to the syllabus, model question paper and the blue print sent to him/her by the college.
  • The question paper setter shall forward the question paper along with the scheme of valuation to the controller of Examinations in sealed covers.
  • The Board of Examinations shall consist of all the teachers of the departments and the external examiners. The Head of the Department of the discipline concerned shall be the Chairman of the Board
  • We have single valuation for UG and PG
Valuation

Evaluation process is transparent. Central valuation is followed for UG and PG courses. Results are scrutinized by the committee and published within 30 days after the last exam.

The students are assigned a grade based on his/her combined performance in SEE (Semester End Examinations) and CIA (Continuous Internal Assessment). Based on the grades obtained by a student in all the subjects, a Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated. Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) for each semester and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) for the entire programme is calculated.

Additional Examinations:
  • Additional Examinations are conducted for final year students after the publication of results in the even semester. Final year students who have at most three arrear papers to complete the course are eligible for supplementary exams.
Special Provisions :
  • UG students can apply for revaluation of theory papers in SEE within 10 days from the date of publication of results.
  • Re-totalling of marks is possible within 7 days from the date of publication of results.

Special Facilities for Revaluation:
  • Special Supplementary Examinations are conducted for NCC and sports candidates who represent the college at state or nation level during the time of examinations.
Time ceiling for completion of degrees :
  • The Academic Council permits UG students to complete their programme within six years (3+3), PG students within four years (2+2) and M.Phil. students 2 years(1+1).
