Department of Geography was established in 1973, was like a nebula serving only to cater the needs of UG courses in Geography. In 1985 we turned into a protostar and started PG program. Since the inception of our Parent University till our autonomous status, most of the merit holders at UG and PG programs are from our department. At present department is fully developed like a star. Now department is a recognized research center and faculties are recognized Ph.D. guides. Well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculties are the core of the department who serve to cater to the academic needs of UG to doctoral research programs. An additional feather in our cap is, we are one of the Star Departments under UGC-CPE Scheme. Which has strengthened the infrastructural facilities and academic achievements of the department. Our faculties played a vital role by working by contributing their services as NSS Program Officer, NCC In-charge Officer, CoE, Chairperson of Research Center and Coordinator of Arts Faculty.
