Sanskrit subject started at UG level from 1984-85 for the development of ancient culture, History and Music. Currently, Sanskrit subject is as second language and optional subject at UG level. Rather there was deficiency of Sanskrit experts for teaching but this department has given experts of Sanskrit subject who are working as teachers and professors in Maharashtra region. Veda, Upanishada, Gita, Laukik Literature, Drama, Epic etc. are included in the syllabus by the autonomous. Every year Sanskrit department arranges Academic Trip, Cultural Programs and conducts Sanskrit Shloka Reading and Speech Competition, we also celebrates Sanskrit Day.syllabus which includes journalism, mass of communication. It helps our students to equip them for job-oriented courses

1) Students will understand the grammar rules of Sanskrit language.
2) They will be able to .read and understand texts written in Sanskrit language.
3) Students will develop interest in Sanskrit language and literature.

1) Students graduating in this course can understand the linguistic features and literary aspects of Sanskrit language.
2) Students will understand the moral and social values in ancient Sanskrit literature.
3) Students can develop their interest in Sanskrit and thus work to rejuvenate the language.
4) They can go for Postgraduate course in Sanskrit.

1) Students will be specialized in Sanskrit language and literature through this course.
2) They can do their career as Sanskrit teacher.
3) They can appear for SET/NET exams or go for research studies in Sanskrit language and literature.
