Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya (Autonomous), Latur

Department of Mathematics

Welcome to Department of Mathematics at Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya, Latur . Department of Mathematics is established in the year 1971, when Shiv Chhatrapati Shikshan Sanstha started the Science Faculty in Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalya ,Latur . In the beginning only two classes i.e. P.U.C. and B.Sc-I year were started with one teacher. In the natural growth B.Sc-II and B.Sc-III year classes were started in the year 1973 and 1974 respectively. Department has started M.Sc Mathematics during 2017-2018 academic year with 30 students intake capacity.

We are passionate about creating new knowledge in mathematics and communicating this knowledge to our students. We motivate students to participate in training program in Mathematics so that they could enrich their mathematics knowledge. Every year students apply for MTT&S and TPM,NISER

Since we have academic freedom by UGC since from June 2013 , The courses for the UG and PG Programme are framed using time tested and internationally popular text books so that the courses are as par with the courses offered by any other reputed universities around the world. We conduct lecture series for the preparation of IIT-JAM entrance in Mathematics. We have got remarkable results in that. Our students regularly participate in MMS sponsored Mathematics Seminar competition and RCMK competition every year. We have successful record in this.

Our central goal is to provide intellectual leadership in the mathematical sciences that is of direct benefit to the state and its citizens and commands national and international respect.
